Aquatic Biomes

Aquatic biomes are under water biomes that take up much of the biosphere.  A lot of the aquatic biomes are in the open oceans and coral reefs.  Coral reefs are made of little abiotic coral that fall and make a reef.  These great biomes are in a lot of trouble due to density-independent factors.  90% of the top tropic level fish and predators or being killed off.  These ecosystems are in a lot of danger.  Many people like Sylvia Earle are trying to restore the populations of fish and coral by making protection spots off the coast around the world.  Earle says that the damage is not happening always right on the coast but out at sea in the ocean.

These amazing ecosystems are a part of my life.  I go on vacation in these ecosystems and use them to swim.  Without these amazing ecosystems we would not have food.  The ocean is home to many species of fish that we eat everyday.  The ocean is an important part of our lives.

Humans play a big role in this biosphere. Human are the ones causing all the trouble.  We dump waste into the ocean, we have caused the greenhouse affect which is affecting the weather and the climate and we are killing the animals and are causing them to have limited resources causing limiting factors.  All of these problems are messing up the food webs of these ecosystems.

People in the world do have an idea about how much damage we have caused to these ecosystems.  I think people are just lazy and do not want to change their ways.  We the people have a sort of symbiotic relationship with the ocean.  This relationship is like parasitism.  We are the parasite and the ocean is the host.  All the ocean does is supply us with goods and all we do is destroy it until there is no more aquatic ecosystems.  I think people are just lazy.  They do not want to adjust or change so they just keep killing the environment.

Power Balence Braclets

Mr. Whipp,

My opinion about the bracelets is that they don't work. I watched all the videos and thought they worked until I saw the second video. The test where six  people got the bracelets and the tests did not work.  After all of the videos I think it was a mental thing.  The people who knew they had the bracelet would pass the test.  The people who did not know they had the bracelet would fail the balance test.  I believe the effects of the bracelet are mental games your mind is playing on you.

My hypothesis is that the bracelet would not work.  The bracelet would not have an effect in a test when people did not know if they had it.  I would test my hypothesis by getting five people who do not know what the band was.  Next I would have them close their eyes and stick one Power Balance Bracelet in a person's pocket and a regular arm band in the rest of the test subject's pockets.  Finally, I would run the test on everyone and if anyone passed I would see if they had the Power Balance Band in their pocket.

The reason to look at all sides of the issue is that you may not have all the information about the issue.  For example, I could have just watched the first video and think, wow, that is amazing! But after the second video it became clear that this was not the case.  If you do not look at all sides of the issue you will not have all the data for a good hypothesis and conclusion.
