Aquatic Biomes

Aquatic biomes are under water biomes that take up much of the biosphere.  A lot of the aquatic biomes are in the open oceans and coral reefs.  Coral reefs are made of little abiotic coral that fall and make a reef.  These great biomes are in a lot of trouble due to density-independent factors.  90% of the top tropic level fish and predators or being killed off.  These ecosystems are in a lot of danger.  Many people like Sylvia Earle are trying to restore the populations of fish and coral by making protection spots off the coast around the world.  Earle says that the damage is not happening always right on the coast but out at sea in the ocean.

These amazing ecosystems are a part of my life.  I go on vacation in these ecosystems and use them to swim.  Without these amazing ecosystems we would not have food.  The ocean is home to many species of fish that we eat everyday.  The ocean is an important part of our lives.

Humans play a big role in this biosphere. Human are the ones causing all the trouble.  We dump waste into the ocean, we have caused the greenhouse affect which is affecting the weather and the climate and we are killing the animals and are causing them to have limited resources causing limiting factors.  All of these problems are messing up the food webs of these ecosystems.

People in the world do have an idea about how much damage we have caused to these ecosystems.  I think people are just lazy and do not want to change their ways.  We the people have a sort of symbiotic relationship with the ocean.  This relationship is like parasitism.  We are the parasite and the ocean is the host.  All the ocean does is supply us with goods and all we do is destroy it until there is no more aquatic ecosystems.  I think people are just lazy.  They do not want to adjust or change so they just keep killing the environment.
